Instagrammable shots of the colourful salt work ponds (Caused by the halobacteria), sea views and historically significant Te Ruakanakana/Lake Elterwater
There is a short 10km "out and back" ride open from the section portal opposite the Flaxbourne Heritage Center northwards to a viewing site overlooking Lake Elterwater. Please turn around and return to Ward as the section between Seddon and Lake Eleterwater is "Under Construction" or "In Planning".
Enjoy this trail this summer. More off road trail coming in 2025.
